Welcome to the Experimental MR unit at KERIC

We are happy to meet individual research groups as to discuss the possibility to set up projects to be performed with the support of our staff at KERIC. MR scans will be performed on a 9.4 T Varian scanner with a 30 cm bore.

Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) in its various embodiments, constitutes a powerful technique that has several specific advantages including (i) that techniques can be used similarly for experiments for animals and human beings thus reflecting a genuine translational science tool, allowing for direct comparisons; and (ii) that it generates several different forms of unique structural, functional and chemical information in image format from living individuals. Moreover, MRI is in a state of rapid technical and conceptual development and new applications provide increasingly better spatial and/or temporal resolution.
